US Vice President JD Vance to visit India later this month with Second Lady Usha Vance
Washington, DC: According to Politico, which cited people familiar with the arrangements, US Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance will visit India later this month.

Vance will be traveling overseas for the second time as vice president. According to Politico, Vance visited Germany and France last month. Usha Vance, the second woman, has Indian ancestry; her parents immigrated to the US from India.
The visit will take place at a period of intense tariff discussions between the two parties. While criticizing the tariffs that other countries have placed on the United States, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre earlier on Tuesday (local time) brought up India’s levies on American agriculture and alcoholic beverages.
The president of the United States now, she said, “actually looks out” for the interests of American workers and companies.
“I actually have a nice little chart here that displays the tariff rate for all countries, not just Canada. Since you mentioned the over 300 percent duty on American cheese and butter, let’s look at Canada. Consider India, where American booze is subject to a 150 percent levy. Do you believe that’s contributing to the export of Kentucky bourbon to India? Not in my opinion. “Indian agricultural products are subject to a 100% tariff,” Leavitt said. ”
President Donald Trump of the United States criticized India’s tariffs last week, claiming that it is “next to impossible to sell anything to India” due to the “high tariffs.”
Earlier in February, at the AI meeting in Paris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with US Vice President JD Vance and his family. They celebrated a milestone: Vivek, Vance’s kid, became one year old.
PM Modi said he had a “great conversation” with the Vance family and was happy to be a part of the celebration.
“Meeting US Vice President JD Vance and his family was fantastic. We had a wonderful discussion on a variety of topics. I’m delighted to join them in rejoicing in their son Vivek’s happy birthday!” In an X post, PM Modi wrote
US Vice President JD Vance responded by thanking PM Modi, adding, “Our children really loved the presents, and PM Modi was courteous and cordial. I’m appreciative of the fantastic talk we had.
JD Vance’s daughter, Mirabel Rose Vance, also received an environmentally friendly wooden alphabet set from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This eco-friendly wooden letter set is a long-lasting, secure, and entertaining educational resource that improves cognitive and motor skills. It encourages environmental preservation and is devoid of dangerous chemicals, in contrast to plastic substitutes.
