US presidential election: Donald Trump and Kamala Harris face off in their first televised debate in Pennsylvania
US Presidential Election: Former President Donald Trump and Democratic contender Kamala Harris squared up in their first televised debate today in Pennsylvania, marking a turning point in the US presidential election campaign.
Recent surveys indicate that Kamala Harris, 59, has a sizable lead among female voters. She addressed Trump on reproductive rights, particularly in light of his sometimes inconsistent remarks on abortion in recent days.
On the other hand, Trump attacked Harris on matters like immigration and the economy.
Donald Trump and Black and South Asian politician Kamala Harris seem to be in a dead heat for the presidency; according to the most recent polls, Trump is leading Harris 48% to 47% nationwide.
Harris has been holed up in a hotel for the last five days, preparing for the discussion, according to AFP. The Trump campaign, on the other hand, has suggested that the former president adopted a more carefree stance in the days before the discussion.
The discussion will take place in private and run for ninety minutes.
