US Elections 2024: A survey has revealed that Harris is leading Trump in several key states in the election rally
US Elections 2024: According to a number of surveys issued here, US Vice President Kamala Harris has gained an edge over Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, in many crucial battleground states, including Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
According to the latest survey conducted by YouGov and the Center for Public Opinion at UMass Lowell, Harris leads former president Trump by a very slight margin in Michigan. The report further indicates that Harris leads Trump 48% to 43% in the Great Lakes State.
“For a swing state, this margin is good news for the vice president’s campaign,” said Rodrigo Castro Cornejo, associate director of the Center for Public Opinion and assistant professor of political science at UMass Lowell.
Trump has an uphill struggle in the Great Lakes State if he hopes to surpass this margin. “The Trump campaign,” Castro Cornejo said, “has a negative favorability in Michigan that needs to be overcome if they want to remain competitive in the state.” In Pennsylvania, Harris is at 48% versus Trump’s 46%, according to the UMass Lowell Center for Public Opinion.
“The presidential race remains very close in Pennsylvania, with the coming weeks a crucial time for both campaigns,” Cornejo said.
“As can be expected in a highly competitive race with few undecided voters, get-out-the-vote strategies will become increasingly important to mobilise supporters and ensure they go to the polls on Election Day,” he said.
A recent Fox News survey indicates that although Harris leads Trump somewhat in Georgia, he lags significantly in Arizona.
According to the survey, Harris gets 51% of the vote in Georgia compared to Trump’s 48%. But in Arizona, Trump leads Harris by a comparable percentage, according to a Fox News survey. 51% of voters favor him, compared to 48% for Harris.
Real Clear Politics, which monitors all significant polls, reports that nationwide, Trump is behind Harris by two percentage points, but there is a statistical tie in the battleground states. According to the report, Harris leads Trump in battleground states by 0.3 percentage points.
