Applications for e-Visas for a range of uses, including travel, business, education, cultural and scientific pursuits, media, sports, and medical care, will be processed by the Department General for Consular Service beginning February 19, 2025.

The Ukrainian embassy claims that the e-Visa system will provide two options: a single-entry visa that costs USD 20 and a double-entry visa that costs USD 30. The processing price will double for applicants who choose the urgent option. An e-Visa normally takes three working days to process, however urgent applications may be completed in as little as one day.

Restoring the e-Visa service is in line with Ukraine’s larger diplomatic and economic goals and strengthens its ties with important partners, such as India. Trade, business, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, defense, education, research, and culture are just a few of the fields where India-Ukraine ties have grown throughout time.

Since India recognized Ukraine’s independence in December 1991 and opened an embassy in Kyiv in May 1992, the two countries have maintained a close diplomatic relationship.

India and Ukraine have worked together on cultural exchanges and educational projects in addition to their diplomatic and commercial relations. Courses in Hindi are offered by organizations like Kyiv Linguistic University and Taras Shevchenko National University, and studying Hindi is also encouraged at Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages No. 1.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Association of Ayurveda and Yoga (UAAY), which promotes Ayurveda as an alternative medical approach, is based in Ukraine. In order to promote deeper cultural and medical exchanges between the two nations, the association has organized international congresses on yoga and ayurveda.

On October 2, 2020, the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, a monument of him was unveiled in a botanical park in Kyiv, signifying the expansion of bilateral relations. Known as the “Oasis of Peace,” the surrounding landscape pays homage to Gandhi’s non-violent and harmonious ideology.

In addition to making travel easier for Indian citizens, Ukraine’s move to restore e-Visas shows the country’s ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral collaboration in a number of areas.
