Trump spotted with Musk on sixth rocket test from SpaceX’s massive rocket development site

Donald Trump, the next president of the United States, was present during the launch of SpaceX’s Starship, which is owned by Elon Musk, on Tuesday (local time).

As the rocket took up on its sixth test flight from SpaceX’s vast rocket development facility in Boca Chica, Texas, Trump was seen with Musk.

Reigniting a ship Raptor engine while in orbit, ensuring the booster’s return to the launch site for recovery, and testing different heatshield experiments and maneuvering modifications for the spacecraft’s reentry and drop over the Indian Ocean were the objectives of this test mission.

The rocket splashed down at its destination in the Indian Ocean, marking the successful completion of the Starship test mission.

Musk’s increasing involvement in the Trump administration is shown by Trump’s attendance at the launch site.

Musk and Indian-origin businessman Vivek Ramaswamy have been named by the president-elect to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In a formal announcement on Tuesday, Trump said, “I am happy to announce that the great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).”

“These two exceptional Americans will work together to clear the path for my administration to reorganize federal agencies, reduce unnecessary spending, eliminate unnecessary regulations, and destroy government bureaucracy—all of which are critical to the ‘Save America’ campaign. “Those involved in government waste will be put on notice, and this will send shockwaves through the system,” he said.

Together with the Office of Management and Budget and the White House, the DOGE will lead significant structural changes and promote an entrepreneurial approach to government.

In the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump defeated Democratic opponent Kamala Harris with 295 electoral votes, securing a second term as President of the United States. President-elect Trump has acted quickly after winning to assemble his national security and foreign policy staff in preparation for his official inauguration in January 2025.
