Trudeau said this big thing amidst the ongoing dispute with India

Although some Canadians favor Khalistan, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has admitted that these individuals do not speak for all Sikhs in the country. In the middle of an ongoing diplomatic conflict with India over the murder of Khalistani rebel Hardeep Singh Nijjar, he made these remarks at Diwali festivities at the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa. Trudeau went on to say that although some Canadians do support Prime Minister Modi’s administration, not all Hindu Canadians share their views.

Since Trudeau accused Indian operatives of being involved in Nijjar’s killing in September of last year, relations between Canada and India have been tight. India swiftly denied these charges, describing them as “absurd.” In retaliation, India removed a number of officials from Canada and expelled six Canadian ambassadors.

The existence of pro-Khalistan organizations working freely in Canada has been a frequent source of worry for India, which sees it as a significant problem in bilateral ties. The Indian Consulate and the Hindu Sabha temple co-hosted a consular event in Brampton, which was recently interrupted by Khalistan supporters.

Declaring that every Canadian has the right to freely and securely exercise their religion, Trudeau denounced the disturbance. India’s Ministry of External Affairs, however, said that it is still “deeply concerned” about Indian citizens’ safety in Canada.

After Canadian security authorities said they were unable to adequately safeguard the organizers, the Indian consulate in Toronto announced it will postpone certain scheduled consular activities due to security concerns.
