The UN said it has suspended its humanitarian operations in Yemen’s Saada
New York: In response to one of the greatest humanitarian crises in history, the United Nations said Monday that it has halted its humanitarian efforts in Saada, Yemen, after the arrest of eight further UN employees.

The UN stated in a statement that the “extraordinary” decision to suspend all activities and programs in the northern Saada province was brought about by the absence of “necessary security conditions and guarantees.”
In order to “arrange the release of arbitrarily detained UN personnel and ensure that the necessary conditions are in place to deliver critical humanitarian support,” the Houthis and the international organization will have more time, according to the UN statement.
It claimed that the UN’s capacity to function was impacted by the recent arrests of UN employees, including six who were employed in Saada, on Yemen’s northern border with Saudi Arabia.
