Six of the planes, according to the Taiwanese MND, went over the median line and into the southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) of Taiwan.

“Up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, nine PLA aircraft, seven PLAN vessels, and two official ships were detected operating around Taiwan,” the Taiwanese MND said in a post on X. Six of the planes entered Taiwan’s southern ADIZ after crossing the median line. We have kept an eye on the issue and taken appropriate action.

Notably, Beijing often conducts military operations around the island, contributing to tensions between Taiwan and China, including the most recent Chinese military intervention.

According to the MND, until six a.m. (local time) on Wednesday, 15 Chinese military planes, seven navy ships, and one government ship were seen flying about the island.

According to Taipei Times, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized China for meddling in other democratic nations’ diplomatic affairs, calling it “regrettable” that Beijing frequently engages in “provocative actions” because it does not comprehend the customary diplomatic behaviors between democratic nations.

China has voiced its opposition to the US plan to sell Taiwan armaments for USD 387 million and to Taiwan President Lai Ching-te’s phone conversation with US Representative Nancy Pelosi while he was in Hawaii.

According to Taipei Times, this revelation was made just before President Lai left on a seven-day tour to visit Taiwan’s friends in the Pacific.

“It is regrettable that the Chinese government does not understand normal diplomatic behaviors between democratic countries, thus frequently taking provocative actions,” the ministry said on Tuesday, as it called on Beijing to “be rational and have self-constraint.”
