Taiwan observed 47 flights of Chinese aircraft and seven Chinese ships

Taipei: According to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence, till 6 am (local time), Taiwan identified seven Chinese boats and 47 sorties of Chinese aircraft on Saturday. Out of 47 sorties, 41 crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s northern, southwestern, and eastern ADIZ per MND.

“47 PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels and 1 official ship operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today,” MND stated on X. Of 47 sorties, 41 passed the median line and found their way inside Taiwan’s northern, southwestern, and eastern ADIZ. We have reacted after keeping an eye on things.”

According to a statement released by Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense, earlier on Friday, Taiwan observed eighteen flights of Chinese aircraft and seven Chinese boats till six am (local time).

Out of eighteen missions, thirteen passed the MND’s median line and entered Taiwan’s southern ADIZ.

Up to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, “18 sorties of PLA aircraft and 7 PLAN vessels were detected around Taiwan.” Thirteen of eighteen sorties passed the median line and arrived in Taiwan’s southern ADIZ. We have reacted appropriately after keeping an eye on things.”

Earlier on Thursday, a US Department of State spokesman strongly denounced China’s recent military operations near Taiwan, labeling them “brazen and irresponsible threats,” while restating the US’s long-standing support for Taipei (the capital city), according to Taipei Times.

“China cannot reasonably claim to be a ‘force for stability in a turbulent world’ while issuing brazen and irresponsible threats toward Taiwan,” the spokesman added.

The official stressed, according to the Taipei Times, Washington’s long-standing dedication to Taiwan will remain as it has for 45 years and the US “will keep supporting Taiwan in response to China’s military, economic, informational, and diplomatic pressure.”

The spokesman said, “Together with our international partners, we strongly advocate for peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and oppose any efforts to alter the status quo by force or coercion.”
