Taiwan detected the flights of 18 Chinese aircraft and seven Chinese ships

Taipei: Until 6 am (local time), Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence said that it identified eighteen missions of Chinese aircraft and seven Chinese warships on Friday. According to the MND, 13 of the 18 flights crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s southern ADIZ.

Up to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, “18 sorties of PLA aircraft and 7 PLAN vessels were detected around Taiwan.” Thirteen of the eighteen sorties passed the median line and entered southern ADIZ for Taiwan. After observing the circumstances, we have reacted as necessary.”

According to a statement issued by Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense, earlier on Thursday, Taiwan detected 27 flights of Chinese aircraft, six Chinese boats, and one Chinese balloon till 6 am (local time).
Out of 27 flights, according to the MND, 20 passed the median line and entered Taiwan’s southern ADIZ.

“27 sorties of PLA aircraft and 6 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today,” Taiwan’s MND stated in a post on X Twenty of twenty-seven flights passed the median line and entered Taiwan’s southern ADIZ. During this period, one PRC balloon was found.

Reiterating the United States’ long-standing support for Taipei (capital city), a spokesman from the United States Department of State strongly criticized China’s recent military activities near Taiwan, calling them “brazen and irresponsible threats,” earlier in the day, according to Taipei Times.

“China cannot credibly claim to be a ‘force for stability in a turbulent world’ while issuing brazen and irresponsible threats toward Taiwan,” the spokesman added.

The official underlined, according to the Taipei Times, Washington’s long-standing dedication to Taiwan will continue as it has for 45 years, and the US “will keep supporting Taiwan in response to China’s military, economic, informational, and diplomatic pressure.”

The spokesman said, “Together with our international partners, we strongly advocate for peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and oppose any efforts to alter the status quo by force or coercion.”
