Russian bomb blast in Kharkiv apartment kills one person and injures at least 42
In Kharkov, which is the second-largest city of Ukraine, a Russian-guided bomb hit a multi-story apartment building, killing at least one woman and injuring 42 out of the inhabitants.
A corpse of an aged woman was discovered on Sunday, the city’s prosecutor’s office in the northeast has revealed; the corpse is of a 94-year-old woman. When it hit, the bomb blew out the ninth level of the building on fire.
As per Yangar Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terehov, when the bomb hit the tenth level of the building, 42 people, including three children, were injured in the process. He mentioned that at least four levels of the atmosphere were lost in this fire and twelve buildings were also affected.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, reiterated that his country is not in a position to use its firepower that penetrates deep into Russia without compromising the lives of citizens and soldiers of Ukraine after the strike.
“It is clear that every single terrorist act organized by Russians, including today’s in Kharkov, and every single one of this type’s strikes emphasizes why it is necessary to possess adequate and quite powerful long-range countries,” a spokesperson said.
Zelenskyy stated that Russian forces used guided bombs to attack the regions of Donetsk and Sumy as well on Sunday. The Russian military is said to undertake “at least 100 such air raids” every day.
Ever since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, there have been thousands of deadly casualties inside Ukraine. Russia, on the other hand, rejects the notion that civilian populations are deliberately targeted.
