President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan awards Zayed II Medal to Chile’s Environment Minister
In honor of her contributions to the success of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which was held in the United Arab Emirates last year, Chile’s Environment Minister, Professor Maisa Rojas, was awarded the Zayed the Second Medal by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The award ceremony took place at the Ministry’s offices in Santiago, the capital, at a reception that Rojas gave in honor of UAE Ambassador to Chile Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi.
At the event, Rojas thanked President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the honor and praised the historic UAE Consensus reached at COP28, which served as a foundation for global climate action and sustainability and a major reference framework.
For his part, Al Neyadi congratulated Rojas on the prize and emphasized the need of promoting more international collaboration and partnership in the application of sustainability principles on a larger scale, considering the current global shifts.
Al Neyadi also praised Chile’s support of the historic UAE Consensus, which promotes cooperation and coordination to protect people and the environment, as well as its participation at COP28.
