President of the Republic of Senegal Bassirou Diomaye Faye visits the Grand Mosque
Abu Dhabi: The President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, paid a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Along with Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, the President of Senegal and his delegation, which included Babacar Matar Ndiaye, Ambassador of Senegal to the United Arab Emirates; Saeed Hamdan Al Naqbi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Senegal; and several senior officials in Senegal, toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque’s halls and exterior corridors.
They received a briefing on the mosque’s mission, which is based on the ideals and principles set out by the UAE’s founding fathers and emphasizes tolerance, openness to others, and cooperation.
They also studied the history of the grand building, its beauty, and the exquisite art of Islamic architecture that is showcased in every part of it. They also learned about the important role that the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has played in fostering a tolerant Islamic culture and improving cross-cultural communication between different cultures and peoples around the world.
Following the tour, the visitor received a copy of “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace.” This magazine highlights the mosque’s distinctive architectural creativity and offers a visual trip through its architectural splendor, including award-winning photographs from the “Spaces of Light” Photography Award.
