President Donald Trump calls PM Narendra Modi a “great leader” and praises India’s global recognition
Washington, DC: US President Donald Trump called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “great leader” during their meeting, praising his outstanding job in India and his international renown. As a harder and more skilled negotiator than himself, Trump also commended PM Modi‘s negotiating abilities.

Trump gave PM Modi a hearty embrace upon his arrival at the White House, saying, “We missed you a lot.” In his book Our Journey Together, he also penned an emotional letter describing PM Modi as “great.”
President Trump made the following seven remarks on PM Modi:
– “He is doing well in India. Everyone is talking about him. He’s doing really well.”
– “He’s a great leader.”
President Trump greeted him warmly at the White House and said, “We missed you a lot.”
– In the book Our Journey Together, which he gave to the PM, President Trump wrote, “Mr. Prime Minister, you are great.”
“I’m overjoyed to greet my buddy, Prime Minister Modi. He is a unique individual.
– “PM Modi has been a friend for a long time.”
He is a much better negotiator than I am, and he is also a lot rougher as a negotiator. Not even a competition exists.
Notably, President Trump welcomed PM Modi to the White House on Thursday (local time), and the two hugged each other.
According to Trump, he, Prime Minister Modi, and their countries have “great unity and great friendship.” It is “important” that countries stay unified, he said.
Trump emphasized throughout the meeting that the two countries’ relations would strengthen.
PM Modi shared confidence that India and the US would continue to deepen their strategic alliance with “the same bond, trust, and excitement.” He also expressed his satisfaction at seeing President Trump return to the White House for a second term.
In his speech, Prime Minister Modi said that, after 60 years in office, the Indian people have also granted him the chance to serve them for a third consecutive term.
Following the commencement of President Trump’s second term last month, PM Modi made his first trip to the US.
Only three weeks after the new government took office, PM Modi received an invitation to visit the US, making him one of the first few international leaders to do so after Trump’s reelection.
