Pakistan: Two people killed in car bomb blast near passenger bus in Khuzdar

Balochistan: According to Dawn, a vehicle bomb explosion near a passenger bus traveling from Khuzdar to Rawalpindi in the Khori region on the Khuzdar-Shahdadkot highway on Sunday claimed two lives and wounded seven more.

According to Levies authorities, the bus was passing past a location where a vehicle containing explosives was parked when the device went off. Two persons were killed in the blast, according to Kalat Division Commissioner Naeem Bazai, who spoke to Dawn. He said, “Investigation is underway to determine the nature of the blast.”

“Six passengers were injured in the blast, and one passenger was killed on the spot,” Khuzdar Assistant Commissioner Hafizullah Kakar had previously said. According to him, the bus was damaged and the automobile was totally demolished, and the bus driver and cleaner were among the people hurt.

After learning of the explosion, Levies, additional security guards, and the bomb disposal team arrived at the scene and transported the deceased and wounded to the trauma center of Khuzdar Teaching Hospital. However, according to the Dawn report, the other casualties were sent to CMH, Khuzdar, while the cleaner who had severe injuries passed away at the hospital.

Shiraz and Sanaullah were named as the dead, while Mohammad Ikram, Atif, Mohammad Yousaf, Samiur Rehman, Zia, and Irfan were identified as the wounded. According to reports, two of the wounded are in critical condition. Officials from the bomb disposal team later arrived at the scene to collect evidence. According to a senior officer, it seems that the passenger bus leaving Khuzdar was the target.
