Pakistan: The Baloch Women’s Forum denounces the state’s increased abuses
Balochistan: The current surge in “state-sponsored terrorism, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances” in Balochistan, particularly in the Makran area, has been sharply condemned by the Baloch Women Forum.
According to The Balochistan Post (TBP), the organization has called for urgent international involvement and has described these actions as a part of an ongoing campaign of genocide against the Baloch people.
According to The Balochistan Post, the Baloch Women Forum released a statement detailing a number of recent incidents that demonstrate the grave violations of human rights occurring in Balochistan.
The well-known academic and teacher Sharif Zakir has been the target of many taunts and insults. According to The Balochistan Post, the state’s egregious disregard for civilian safety and human rights is shown by the recent kidnapping of his son and cousin.
The Balochistan Post further said that on July 3, 2024, security guards in Turbat forcefully abducted Hayat Sabzal. His mangled body was discovered in Panjgoor on February 11, 2025.
A young and successful Baloch scholar named Allah Dad was attacked and killed in Turbat on February 4, 2025. Eleven Baloch youngsters from Pasni and Kulanch (Chakkuli) were forcefully abducted after Allah Dad, according to TBP, adding to the region’s ever-growing list of missing persons.
Local state authorities violently battered Asma Bibi’s family members after forcefully removing the young Baloch lady from her house. Officials were compelled to make a video statement after demonstrations and public uproar, which included road closures around Balochistan. According to TBP, the criminals have not yet been prosecuted.
The Baloch Women Forum has strongly condemned the systematic targeting of Baloch intellectuals, academics, and young people, arguing that these actions are part of a broader effort to suppress Baloch identity and resistance. The forum has called on the international community and human rights groups to take prompt, decisive action to put an end to these crimes.
TBP restated the group’s emphasis on the urgent need for victim justice, accountability, and an end to criminals’ impunity. Despite several demands, the international community’s silence remains a significant issue. In order to prevent further violations of human rights and provide justice for the oppressed Baloch people, the Baloch Women Forum has reiterated its plea for international intervention.
