Pakistan: Suicide attack near police van in Charsadda
According to police authorities quoted by ARY News, a suicide bombing happened Thursday morning next to a police vehicle in the Akhun Dheri neighborhood of Charsadda, Pakistan.
Preliminary reports indicate that the assailant detonated himself near the police car, however the van and the on-duty cops were unscathed, according to ARY News. Since there was no throng around when the explosion occurred, no people were also hurt. Shortly after the police car had passed, the bomber detonated the explosion, according to the authorities.
According to ARY News, the explosion, which could be heard over a wide region, led to a big police reaction to the location for more investigation.
This strike comes after Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorism after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in 2021.
Four police officers were among the eight individuals murdered in a suicide bombing in Mir Ali Tehsil, North Waziristan, on October 26.
A police station in Mir Ali’s Eidak neighborhood was the target of the assault. A rescue effort was started after the incident, and the wounded were sent to a local hospital to get medical attention. To protect the spot, security personnel roped off the area.
