During a news conference, an ASWJ leader threatened to hold sit-ins around the city unless the government resolved the MWM’s protest by Tuesday at 3 p.m.

According to ARY News, ASWJ leaders said that if the government does not comply with their demands, they will start sit-ins on Tuesday afternoon at places like Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Hydari Market, Sakhi Hasan Mobile Market, Nagan Chowrangi, 4K Chowrangi, Sohrab Goth, Karimabad, Sharah-e-Faisal, Lasbela Chowk, Civic Center, Gulshan Chowrangi, Mosmayat Chowk, Baloch Colony, Akhtar Colony, and others.

According to Dawn, MWM has called for countrywide demonstrations in support of the people of Parachinar, who have been holding a sit-in for six days in which they are seeking justice and peace in the face of continued deaths and violence.

Murtaza Wahab, the mayor of Karachi, suggested earlier Monday that MWM hold a demonstration in front of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister. According to ARY News, Wahab said this in reference to MWM’s blockages along important roads in Karachi.

“Karachiites are suffering from a situation that is not related to them,” Wahab said, adding, “The protesting MWM has been an ally of PTI, which has a government in KP province.”

“We are trying to resolve the issue through talks,” he stated, adding that people were having trouble getting to their jobs, as reported by ARY News.

Notably, MWM is still protesting the Kurram issue at ten different locations in Karachi.

A 24-hour hotline has been established by Karachi Traffic Police to assist locals during the current MWM demonstrations. In order to give real-time traffic information, the traffic police have set up a 24-hour operation at its 1915 hotline office, with three shifts.
