The UAE’s major humanitarian role and its prompt and efficient assistance for nations hit by natural catastrophes were praised by Myanmar’s Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Social Welfare during the occasion. He confirmed that the UAE team’s presence significantly reduced suffering and saved lives for those impacted.

He honoured Lieutenant Colonel Hamad Mohammed Al Kaabi, the team’s deputy commander, and Colonel Muzaffar Mohammed Al Amri, the UAE Search and Rescue Team’s commander, praising their professional skill, the team’s exceptional work, and their productive collaboration with local authorities and foreign teams on the ground.

An update on the most recent advancements in the search and rescue efforts was given at the event. Following the conclusion of the urgent response phase, the minister formally declared the end of all field activities.

The UAE Search and Rescue Team and their counterparts from Myanmar, Vietnam, Singapore, and France also exchanged commemorative plaques at the ceremony. Operational planning and the exchange of knowledge were discussed in order to improve emergency response teams’ readiness for the future.

Colonel Muzaffar Mohammed Al Amri, who received the accolade at the end of the team’s mission, said he was proud of it and that it demonstrated the world community’s faith in the UAE rescue teams’ ability and high level of preparedness to react to emergencies. He underlined that team members’ significant field efforts under difficult and extraordinary circumstances are recognised by the award.

The honour, according to Lieutenant Colonel Hamad Mohammed Al Kaabi, reflects the UAE’s unwavering humanitarian stance, which is led by wise leadership, by showing solidarity with those impacted by crises and catastrophes worldwide.

Reiterating their continued dedication to aiding impacted populations and bolstering the UAE’s involvement in international humanitarian endeavours, he said that the team is honoured to represent the UAE in such missions, bringing a message of peace and unity that cuts beyond national boundaries.

The UAE promptly sent the search and rescue team to assist with the post-earthquake activities in Myanmar, as instructed by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Through the timely aid to those hurt and impacted and the relief of their suffering—a deeply ingrained humanitarian role the UAE continuously preserves across the world—this continues to exemplify the nation’s principles of collaboration, solidarity, and global togetherness.
