More than a decade after her breakout performance in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, Margot Robbie makes a major revelation

Margot Robbie has said that she chose to do the now-iconic full-frontal naked scene in “The Wolf of Wall Street” more than ten years after her breakthrough performance in the movie.
One of the movie’s most talked-about scenes is Robbie’s character, Naomi Lapaglia, wooing Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, stockbroker Jordan Belfort.

According to Deadline, Robbie recently spoke about her daring artistic decisions during the film’s development, such as her choice to go fully nude in the crucial sequence.

Robbie stressed that she chose to be completely naked, even though director Martin Scorsese had advised her to wear a robe if it would make her feel more at ease.

“The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked–that’s the card she’s playing,” Robbie said. She continued, “That’s not what she would do in that scene if she wasn’t in control.”

One of the most iconic and contentious scenes in the movie is when her character purposefully seduces DiCaprio’s Belfort; Robbie’s choice to accept the nudity was consistent with Naomi’s character’s capacity for manipulation and power.

Robbie also spoke candidly about a memorable event when she made yet another surprising choice during her last movie audition.

She was supposed to kiss DiCaprio in the moment, but Robbie shocked everyone by choosing to smack him instead.

“I reasoned that it would be fantastic if I could kiss Leonardo DiCaprio at this moment. “And then I thought… nah,” she recounted, “but I can’t wait to tell all of my friends this.” and just struck him across the face,” according to Deadline.

The actress said that the moments immediately after the slap were stressful. “It was dead silence for what felt like an eternity but was probably three seconds,” Robbie said.

“They just started laughing at that point. ‘That was wonderful,’ Leo and Marty remarked, laughing so hard,” she said, according to Deadline.

Robbie said that, despite DiCaprio and Scorsese’s good response, she currently dreaded the worst.

She said, “I was thinking, I’m going to get arrested, I’m pretty sure that’s assault, battery,” and she went on to say, “You idiot, you will not only never work again, you will actually go to jail for this.” Furthermore, why did you have to strike him so forcefully? You ought to have done it more lightly.

Robbie actively contributed to the development of her character’s plot in addition to her on-screen behavior.

She said that she thought of a last sexual encounter between Naomi and Jordan before telling him she wanted a divorce.

Robbie claims that Martin Scorsese, the director, was always willing to talk about and make changes to the screenplay.

She remembered that “we were a couple of months into the shoot at that point,” and that “the tone had been set that it was a bit of a free-for-all.” It seemed like Marty would like you more the more insane you were.

According to Deadline, “and the more screen time you’re going to get.”
Additionally, Robbie pointed out that Scorsese wasn’t renowned for giving the performers rigid instructions. Rather, they would often have casual conversations.

She said that she was able to contribute more artistically to her performance because of the open, cooperative environment on set. “I’d sit at video village, and he would tell stories about the Mafia and old film stars, but he didn’t actually give direction,” she said.

Margot Robbie’s performance as Naomi Lapaglia in “The Wolf of Wall Street” was a turning point in her career, garnering her praise from critics and making her a top actress in Hollywood.

After its 2013 release, Martin Scorsese’s film gained notoriety for its intense acting and controversial subject matter.
