The goal of the SolarX Accelerator Programme is to assist startups creating affordable, scalable solar solutions. The goal of this year’s event is to accelerate the adoption of sustainable energy technology across various regions by giving a select group of start-ups access to finance, mentoring, and cooperation possibilities.

The collaboration between ISA and Business Mauritius demonstrates a shared commitment to carbon neutrality and climate adaptation. Through innovative business models that support global sustainability objectives, the two groups want to promote the uptake of solar energy and strengthen the influence of sustainable innovation.

With 123 Member and Signatory nations, ISA is a worldwide project that was started in 2015 by France and India at COP21 in Paris. It collaborates with governments worldwide to facilitate the shift to a cleaner, low-carbon future and to market solar energy as a dependable energy source.

“ISA has committed to empowering youth, fostering innovation, and creating jobs as part of its mission to spread solar energy,” stated Ashish Khanna, Director General of ISA, during the launch. We have no doubt that the entrepreneurs from Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Africa will help transmit important technology concepts that may support the energy transition in different nations. For instance, a solar application created in Fiji may be used on all Pacific islands, while a solution created in Nigeria could find useful use in India.

In keeping with ISA’s goal of bringing together governments, corporate sector players, regulators, and other stakeholders, Khanna stated that the SolarX Accelerator was first presented in Africa before moving on to the APAC area. “This strategy is crucial, particularly in light of the fact that total investment in clean-tech solar energy has dropped by 20% in developing nations over the previous year. According to the news release, he said, “The SolarX Global Accelerator 2025 seeks to address this challenge by bringing entrepreneurs and investors together, offering specialised mentorship, fundraising training, and access to financing opportunities.”

Through investor networking, professional mentoring, and company development seminars, the accelerator seeks to empower participants. Additionally, chosen startups will get the chance to showcase their discoveries to a worldwide audience, increasing their awareness and maybe winning support from influential figures in the energy industry.

Through public-private discourse on economic growth, social equality, and sustainability, Business Mauritius, a significant representative organisation of the local business sector, contributes significantly to the development of the nation.

Business Mauritius CEO Kevin Ramkaloan spoke at the ceremony and said, “Business Mauritius is excited about the chance to collaborate with ISA on the Solar X Accelerator. It highlights the energy transition, innovation, and opening up new markets on the continent—the three main concerns of the business community. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our local partners and the public institutions that helped us introduce Mauritius to the international start-ups from Asia, India, and Africa who are attending the workshop.”

The programme gives start-ups direct access to possible investors and partners in the clean energy ecosystem, together with strategic advice and mentoring. According to the news announcement, this access is intended to solve important obstacles to solar adoption in developing countries, including infrastructure and funding.

The Currimjee Group, Eclosia Group, ENL-Rogers Group, and The Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd are among the major sponsors of the event, which is being sponsored by ISA in association with Business Mauritius.
