Lionsgate officially announces the release date for ‘The Housemaid’
The release date for Paul Feig’s psychological thriller “The Housemaid,” which stars Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, has been formally confirmed by Lionsgate.
Based on the best-selling book by Freida McFadden, the eagerly awaited movie will be released in theaters on December 25, 2025, just before the holidays.
‘The Housemaid’, which was directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay by Rebecca Sonnenshine, tells the tale of Sweeney’s character Millie, who accepts a position as a housemaid for an affluent couple named Andrew (Brandon Sklenar) and Nina (Seyfried), according to Deadline.
A web of tension and mystery is soon revealed as Millie learns the couple’s sinister and hazardous secrets. Michele Morrone plays a significant part as well.
Paul Feig and Laura Fischer for Feigco and Todd Lieberman for Hidden Pictures are producing the film.
According to Deadline, executive producers Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Freida McFadden, and Alex Young will be involved.
With its captivating storyline and exciting turns, McFadden’s “The Housemaid,” which was originally released in 2022, immediately became a phenomenon and topped bestseller charts.
With big-budget movies like “Avatar: Fire and Ash” (Disney) and “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants” (Paramount) scheduled to launch around the same time, the December release will be up against fierce competition at the box office.
