Kamala Harris reacts after second attack attempt on Trump, says “There is no place for violence in America.”
On September 15, 2024, gunfire was heard close to the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Donald Trump, a former US president and the Republican contender for the US presidency in 2024, escaped a second attempt against his life.
Reactions to the second attempted murder
The Democratic contender for US vice president, Kamala Harris, posted on X with the message, “I am relieved that former President Trump is safe despite reports of gunfire near his Florida property.” “America is not a place for violence,” she said.
I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America.

“I have been briefed by my team regarding what federal law enforcement is looking into as a possible assassination attempt of former President Trump today,” said President Biden in a letter. I applaud the Secret Service and its law enforcement partners for their alertness and efforts to keep the former President and everyone around him safe. A suspect is in custody.
“I am relieved that the former President is unharmed,” he continued. Law enforcement is gathering additional information regarding what transpired, and an investigation into this event is ongoing. I have often said that political violence, or any violence for that matter, has no place in our nation, and I have given my staff the task of making sure the Secret Service has all the tools, capabilities, and safety precautions required to guarantee the former President’s ongoing protection.

Elon Musk, a supporter of former US President and Republican contender Donald Trump, also rushed to social media to react to the news of another shooting incident involving the candidate. He questioned why competitors Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had not been the target of assassination attempts.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala,” the author stated.
While acknowledging his satisfaction that Trump was safe, Vivek Ramaswamy denounced the growing pattern of political violence, branding it as abhorrent and unAmerican. Additionally, he pushed the Secret Service to provide Trump the same degree of security as President Biden. “Yes, we are grateful that President Trump is safe once again,” he stated in his letter. However, this increasing trend of political violence must end immediately. It’s un-American and unacceptable.
There is now no justification for the Secret Service to not immediately increase President Trump’s security to the *same* degree as they do for Biden. However, we also need to treat a more serious illness that exists in our nation. America is teetering on the brink, and thank God that catastrophe has been avoided twice this summer. We can only hope that President Trump’s two assassination attempts so far will be the worst events of this election cycle.
JD Vance, Trump’s choice for vice president, said, “I’m happy that President Trump is secure. Amazingly, when I chatted with him before the news broke, he was in high spirits. Even though there is still a lot we don’t know, I will be giving my kids extra-tight hugs and uttering a grateful prayer tonight.
Donald Trump Jr., the president’s son, commented, “Again, guys! At the Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, shots were fired. Local law enforcement said that they found an AK-47 in the woods. A statement from the Trump campaign verifies that the former president is secure. There are reports that a suspect has been captured.
