Israel launches new project ‘Senior Future’ for senior citizens
Tel Aviv: In partnership with the National Student Association, Israel’s Ministry of Social Equality and the Advancement of Women is launching the “Senior Future,” a cutting-edge nationwide initiative where students will engage in a variety of activities with senior citizens in exchange for a scholarship.

The program’s objective is to empower senior citizens and enhance their quality of life as part of the fight against loneliness, which we view as a harmful and dangerous disease in society. It also aims to increase the social resilience of Israel’s senior citizen population while providing scholarships to young and talented students.
The project, which will be implemented in 204 local authorities nationwide, will include a range of initiatives aimed at reducing loneliness, fostering communal relationships, establishing social structures, and encouraging older adults’ civic participation in Israeli society.
In order to empower senior persons and advance social equality, the project provides a number of important activities, such as facilitating senior councils, holding seminars on retirement planning and healthy living, including senior citizens in community events, and more.
