After Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar brought up the Kashmir problem at the UNSC, he also emphasized the democratic decision taken by the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the elections for the legislative assembly.

“The deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Pakistan have mentioned an essential and inalienable part of India, the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in his remarks,” Harish said when delivering India’s statement at the Open Debate in the United Nations Security Council on Practicing Multilateralism, Reforming and Improving Global Governance. The union territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will continue to be an essential and unalienable part of India, I would like to reiterate.

“Pakistan’s misinformation and disinformation campaigns of lies and falsehoods do not change facts on the ground,” he said. Last year, a sizable number of Jammu and Kashmiris cast ballots to choose their administration. The people of Jammu and Kashmir made their decision quite clear. Unlike Pakistan, Jammu & Kashmir has a robust and thriving democracy.

He said that India has been a victim of terrorism committed by Pakistan and emphasized the absurdity of Pakistan’s self-proclaimed involvement in combating terrorism, considering its own position as a “global epicenter” of terrorism.

Considering that Pakistan is a worldwide hub for terrorism, it is very ironic that the country takes pride in leading the battle against terrorism. Pakistan has committed acts of terrorism against India,” Harish said.

“There is no excuse for terrorism, no matter what its form, nature, or intent,” he said. The UN cannot distinguish between good and bad terrorists, and no political grievance can be used as an excuse for terrorism.
