French President Emmanuel Macron welcomes Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Paris
Paris: Premier Narendra Modi was greeted warmly by French President Emmanuel Macron, who also expressed his excitement for the AI Action Summit, which he will co-chair with Modi. JD Vance, the vice president of the United States, was also welcomed by Macron to the AI Summit.
Macron shared a message on X that said, “Hello, my buddy @NarendraModi! Welcome to Paris! Good to meet you, @VP Vance, my love! Greetings to all of our AI Action Summit partners. “Let’s get to work!”

PM Modi highlighted the highlights of his welcome in Paris in a different post. PM Modi posted on X, saying, “Here are highlights from the memorable welcome in Paris yesterday.”
Members of the Indian diaspora had welcomed PM Modi with open arms when he arrived in Paris. While waiting for PM Modi to arrive in Paris, members of the Indian community also sang “Hare Krishna.”
According to an Indian community member who greeted PM Modi at a hotel in Paris, “Today is my birthday; it’s a big day for me and he (PM Modi) blessed me.”
“It is such a good moment that PM Modi has come here for the AI summit,” said another Indian community member. Every time PM Modi visits, we accomplish a lot. There will be a new consulate opening this time. We kindly ask that a cultural center be established here.

Together with the French president, the prime minister will co-chair the AI Action Summit, bringing together CEOs from the IT sector and world leaders to discuss AI-driven innovations for the benefit of society. In addition, the visit is significant since it will represent a turning point in diplomatic outreach when the two leaders jointly open India’s first consulate in Marseille.

The visit is in line with current initiatives to strengthen the strategic alliance between France and India, such as assessing the status of the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, a program aimed at fostering long-term collaboration in important areas.
PM Modi and Macron will visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, a major global nuclear fusion research partnership, in Marseille when he is there. The Prime Minister will also pay homage to Indian troops who lost their lives in the World Wars by visiting the Mazargues War Cemetery as part of historical ties. At President Donald Trump’s invitation, PM Modi will spend two days in the United States after his trip to France.
