Four terrorists killed in operations by Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Pakistani: Pakistani security forces killed four terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday in two different operations, according to Dawn, which cited the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media branch.
In the first operation, two terrorists, including Kharji Insaf Ullah, were killed in a fierce battle that ensued in the North Waziristan area as a consequence of an intelligence-led effort.
According to the military’s media wing, security forces killed two additional terrorists and injured three others in a second operation in Khyber District that targeted another terrorist hideaway.
The dead terrorists “remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the law enforcement agencies as well as the innocent civilians,” according to the military’s media wing, and Dawn claimed that weapons and ammo had been confiscated from them.
The Pakistani government formally labeled the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as “Fitna al Khawarij” earlier in July, and it directed all institutions to call terrorists “kharijis” (outcasts).
At least eight individuals, including four police officers, were killed in a suicide bombing in North Waziristan on Saturday, according to ARY News, which cited police.
A police post was the explicit target of the assault in Mir Ali Tehsil’s Eidak district, according to the authorities.
A rescue effort was launched after the tragedy, and the wounded were sent to a nearby hospital for medical attention. After swiftly reaching the location, security personnel surrounded the area to conduct an investigation.
Notably, terrorist activity has increased in Pakistan after the Taliban retook power in Afghanistan in 2021.
