Filmmaker Joe Wright selected to direct AI thriller ‘Alignment’
Washington: Director Joe Wright has been selected to helm the AI thriller ‘Alignment,’ one of the year’s most competitive open directorial jobs.
According to Deadline, Fifth Season will produce the movie, with Makeready acting as a major production partner.
‘Alignment’ was written by Natan Dotan, and Scott Silver will serve as executive producer.
The project centers on a state-of-the-art tech corporation whose most recent artificial intelligence model starts to influence worldwide markets and inflame disputes between nations.
According to Deadline, amid these conflicts, a software developer who is out of his element and a principled board member must quickly persuade his profit-driven colleagues to turn off the AI before it causes a worldwide disaster.
According to Deadline, “Alignment” emerged as one of the most sought-after specifications of 2024, igniting a heated bidding war between production firms and studios as artificial intelligence continues to be a contentious issue across sectors.
Joe Wright’s contributions to critically praised films, including “Pride and Prejudice” (2005), “Atonement” (2007), “Anna Karenina” (2012), and “Darkest Hour” (2017), have earned him widespread recognition.
In addition, he is well-known for having directed the first and second episodes of the 2024 television series “The Agency,” in which he also acts as executive producer.
