ENOC celebrates successful completion of Horizon JPUT pipeline connectivity project in Singapore
Dubai: The Horizon JPUT Pipeline Connectivity Project in Singapore, a major undertaking by Horizon Singapore Terminals Pte Ltd (HSTPL) and Jurong Port Universal Terminal Pte Ltd (JPUT), has been successfully completed, according to Horizon Terminals Limited (HTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC). In addition to improving operating efficiency and lowering customer costs, the project represents a major turning point in Singapore’s oil and petroleum infrastructure development and HTL’s global growth.
As part of the project, a new pipe rack with 24-inch fuel oil and 20-inch clean petroleum product pipelines was built to link the two terminals. Transfer times between the two terminals are greatly shortened by this cutting-edge infrastructure, which also eliminates operating hazards. Customers of both ports benefited from significant cost reductions after the completion of the first successful pipeline transfer in January 2024.
Horizon Singapore Terminals, which was constructed on Jurong Island in 2006, has had a solid working relationship with Jurong Port Universal Terminal, which opened next door in 2007. Beginning with a mutual aid agreement and the building of a firewater line in 2009, the two terminals have increased their cooperation over time. Customers of both ports benefited from this cooperation, which was built on mutual trust and grew organically into the present pipeline connection project.
“The successful completion of the Horizon JPUT Pipeline marks a pivotal moment not only for Singapore’s energy infrastructure but also for the region,” said Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC and Chairman of Horizon Singapore Terminals Pte Ltd (HSTPL), highlighting the project’s wider implications. This project solidifies ENOC’s status as a global energy leader and expands our worldwide presence.
“JPUT is thrilled that the inter-terminal pipeline connection was completed successfully. Loh Wei, CEO of Jurong Port Universal Terminal, said, “This new infrastructure improves the collaborative ecosystem between our terminals, increases service offerings for our customers, and fortifies our partnership with Horizon Singapore Terminals.”
By reducing the need for short-distance shipping, the new pipeline improves the safety of critical long-distance vessel movements while also reducing maritime traffic at the port. This innovation also reduces carbon emissions, promoting more environmentally friendly operations.
