Elon Musk responds to the Trump assassination attempt, saying, “Nobody is trying…”
Billionaire Elon Musk responded to the news of an attempted attempt on the life of former US President Donald Trump by questioning why President Joe Biden and Democratic presidential contender and Vice President Kamala Harris are not being targeted for murder.
According to Trump’s team and law enforcement, he was safe and undamaged despite being the target of an alleged assassination attempt on Sunday in Florida, according to the FBI.
The US Secret Service verified that one or more of its agents “opened fire on a gunman” who was close to Trump’s golf course border. They also found a GoPro camera and an “AK-47 style rifle” with a scope.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala,” Musk said in response to a post on X that asked, “Why do they want to kill Donald Trump?”
The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, who is openly backing Trump, is preparing for the US presidential election in November, when he will face Vice President Harris.
Although the identity of the shooter, Ryan Wesley Routh, remains unconfirmed, police said that shots were fired by Secret Service officers at the suspect, who was hidden in the woods at the golf course, rather than at the former president.
According to Rafael Barros of the Secret Service, who was cited by the news agency AFP, “We are not sure right now if the individual was able to take a shot at our agents.”
The FBI said that it is “investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump.”
Authorities applauded the Secret Service’s prompt response. The organization has been under fire after it seemed to fail to identify and apprehend a shooter who was attempting to kill Trump in Pennsylvania.
