Elon Musk introduces himself as ‘dark gothic MAGA’ at Donald Trump’s New York rally
US: At a massive Trump rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday (local time), tech entrepreneur Elon Musk wore a black MAGA (Make America Great Again) cap as part of his latest demonstration of support for former US President Donald Trump. Musk referred to himself as a “dark, gothic MAGA.”
As you can see, I’m dark, gothic MAGA, not simply MAGA. Wearing a black jacket and t-shirt, Musk waved to a sizable group of Trump fans, saying, “Well, it’s… the energy in this room is incredible.” “You guys are fantastic. To be honest, this is just… yes. This is, after all, the type of upbeat vibe that America is known for.
Musk, who has been outspoken in his support of a second Trump administration, referred to the election as a “real battle” and encouraged voters to cast their ballots for the Republican leader as soon as possible. “America just won’t be very good. America is destined to experience unprecedented heights. At the massive celebration, he said, “The future is going to be amazing.”
Although the state last supported a Republican for president in 1984, Trump, a decades-long New York celebrity, wanted to exploit the occasion at the legendary location of Knicks basketball games and Billy Joel concerts to make his last point against Democratic contender Kamala Harris.
Trump Rally Backlash is Sparked by Racist Remarks
Prior to Musk’s “gothic” display of support, Trump’s supporters made a number of offensive and racial comments at the start of the massive gathering in New York. Joker and podcast presenter Tony Hinchcliffe started the tirade by referring to Puerto Rico, where Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned on Sunday, as a “floating island of garbage.”
“This is what they think of us,” Puerto Rican musician Ricky Martin tweeted in Spanish after sharing a screenshot of the comments on his Instagram. The joke about Puerto Rico “does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,” senior advisor Danielle Alvarez of the Trump campaign told Reuters.
Later, Harris was referred to as “the antichrist” by Republican congressman David Rem, who waved a cross and dubbed her “the devil.” The Madison Square Garden event was “mirroring the same dangerously divisive and demeaning message” as Trump, according to an email from Harris’ team.
Republican US Representative Maria Elvira Salazar, who represents portions of Miami and has attended recent Trump rallies, and Angel Cintron, the leader of the GOP on the island, both condemned the remarks made against Puerto Rico.
The racist remark made by @TonyHinchcliffe referring to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage” disgusts me. GOP ideals are not reflected in this speech. More than 48,000 Puerto Rican troops served in Vietnam, and more than 345 of them received Purple Hearts. This courage is admirable. Get educated! Salazar stated.
Later, Hinchcliffe responded to the criticism by claiming that his detractors had “a sense of humor.” “I love Puerto Rico and vacation there,” he added. Check out the whole set. I made fun of everyone.
Trump Attacks Harris, Labeling Her a “Low-IQ Person”
Trump frequently said in his 80-minute address at Madison Square Garden that if he wins the next election, he would stop illegal immigration and deport migrants whom he called “vicious and bloodthirsty criminals.”
“I will begin the most extensive deportation program in American history on the first day,” he said. “Every town and city that has been overrun and overrun will be saved by me.” Trump praised his tough-on-immigrant speech and referred to Harris as a “very low-IQ individual.”
Trump praised his foreign policy record from 2017 to 21 and declared that he would not instigate conflicts while in power, although he did say that “we would kick their ass” if the US and China went to war.
With little more than a week before Election Day, polls indicate that Harris and Trump are tied in the key states that will choose the next president. Nationwide, about 38 million votes have already been cast.
