In the presence of Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry; Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World; and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the company unveiled the project’s virtual model.

By the end of 2026, Bharat Mart is expected to open. DP World is laying the groundwork for a revolutionary marketplace that will reshape international economic ties between India, the Middle East, and other regions. Construction is now ongoing.

“Dubai’s top-notch infrastructure and connectivity make it a vital partner as India expands its global trade,” HH Sheikh Hamdan said. With more than 2,300 Indian businesses flourishing in Jafza and non-oil bilateral commerce on the rise, Bharat Mart will further solidify the UAE-India alliance by giving Indian products quicker access to international markets.

“We eagerly await the completion of Bharat Mart, a transformative project launched by DP World with immense potential,” said Piyush Goyal. In keeping with the goals of the India-UAE CEPA, DP World’s efforts to build the Virtual Trade Corridor between India and the UAE would guarantee that trade and commerce reach new heights. We also value DP World’s efforts to provide new avenues and possibilities for Indian companies and MSMEs to access African markets.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem went on to say, “Bharat Mart will play a significant role in helping India and the UAE realise their goal of $100 billion in non-oil commerce by 2030. By creating top-notch logistical infrastructure, opening up new markets, and promoting sustainable economic development, DP World is still dedicated to boosting commerce.

Bharat Mart will be a major commercial centre for Indian micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) and will span 2.7 million square feet, with its first phase including 1.3 million square feet. With 1,500 showrooms and more than 700,000 square feet of state-of-the-art warehouse, light industrial units, office spaces, and conference facilities, the complex is strategically positioned in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) and will include space specifically designated for Indian women-led enterprises.

Bharat Mart offers to provide Indian enterprises with easy access to a multimodal logistics network, conveniently located 11 km from Jebel Ali Port and 15 km from Al Maktoum International Airport, and with easy access to Etihad Rail. In addition to air connections, Jebel Ali’s ecosystem will allow exporters to connect to 150 nautical destinations, connecting the facility to more than 300 cities globally, increasing efficiency and market reach.

With more than 2,300 Indian firms based there, rising 15% year over year after 283 new Indian companies were established in 2024, JAFZA remains a vital location for bilateral commerce between India and the United Arab Emirates.
