Donald Trump strongly opposes proposed acquisition of US Steel by Japan’s Nippon Steel
Washington: US President-elect Donald Trump said, “I am totally against the once great and powerful U.S. Steel being bought by a foreign company.” He was strongly opposed to the planned acquisition of US Steel by Nippon Steel of Japan.
Trump said in an X post that “We will make U.S. Steel strong and great again, and it will happen FAST! Through a series of tax incentives and tariffs! I will prevent this agreement from occurring in my capacity as president. Buyer Beware!!!.”
Notably, on December 18, 2023, it was reported that US Steel will be sold to Nippon Steel, a deal worth more than USD 14 billion.
About the current hostage crisis in the Middle East, Trump has already warned Hamas that if the hostages are not freed by January 20, 2025, before he takes office in the White House, there will be “ALL HELL TO PAY” in the area.
“Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that if the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against humanity,” Trump wrote on the platform of Truth Social to share the news.
Trump attacked earlier discussions on the subject, saying there had been “all talk” but “no actions” about the hostage-holding places, calling the scenario cruel and horrible.
Trump promised to “hit harder” those behind the hostage-taking than the US has ever done against foreign organizations.
He also called the decision by former US President Joe Biden to pardon his son Hunter, who was found guilty of gun-related and tax-related offenses, a miscarriage of justice.
Trump said on Truth Social, “Does Joe’s pardon of Hunter include the J-6 hostages, who have been in jail for years now? What a travesty of justice and abuse!”
Trump and his allies have referred to individuals who were imprisoned for their involvement in the January 6, 2021, rioting on Capitol Hill as the “J6 hostages,” arguing that they were behaving in a peaceful and patriotic manner.
