Delivering the largest speech of her career, Kamala Harris charges the DNC stage, honoring the “extraordinary” Biden and criticizing Trump

The Democratic contender for US vice president, Kamala Harris, made a daring appearance at the DNC on Thursday to give the speech of her life.

Following President Joe Biden‘s departure from the candidacy following a lackluster debate performance, she joined the 2024 presidential run.

In her opening remarks, Harris thanked Biden for opening the way for her to attend the Democratic National Convention this evening.

The US Vice President said, “I love you so very much to our President, Joe Biden.” “I am so grateful for the journey we have taken together, Joe,” the speaker said.

She praised the president’s achievements as “extraordinary” and stated, “Your character is inspiring.” “Jill and you both have our undying gratitude and love, Doug and I.”

Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden had a phone conversation with Harris before to her DNC presentation. “Kamala and Tim will inspire a generation and lead us into the future,” said Biden later in a post on X.

Speaking to the audience, Kamala Harris says, “I accept your nomination” for US President.

“I accept your nomination to be President of the United States of America,” Harris said to the audience after officially accepting the Democratic candidacy for president.

She said that “you can always trust me to put country above party and self” and that she would be the president for “all the Americans.”

Drawing on her background as a state and municipal prosecutor, the Democratic candidate said, “My entire career I’ve only had one client the people.”

“For the People” served as Harris’ slogan during her abortive 2020 presidential campaign.

She promised to be “a president who leads and listens, who is realistic, practical, and has common sense and always fights for the American people.” She positioned herself as a “realistic” and “practical” leader.

Kamala Harris calls for Capitol rioting and attacks Trump as a “unserious man.”

With a swipe at her Republican rival, the US Vice President said, “Donald Trump is an unserious man.”

In addition, she used January 6 to warn of the “extremely serious” repercussions of Trump’s return to the White House.

“Donald Trump is a nonserious individual in many aspects. However, she said, “There are very serious consequences to putting Donald Trump back in the White House.”

She informed the assembly that Trump made an effort to “throw away your votes.” “After failing, he dispatched an armed mob to attack law enforcement officials at the US Capitol.”

Harris went on to enumerate other complaints she had with Trump, saying that because of the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity, he would have no “guardrails” if he were to win a second term.

Harris promises to support Israel and the Ukraine

In addition, she pledged to support Ukraine wholeheartedly should she be elected president.

“I will stand strong with Ukraine and our NATO allies as president,” she said.

Seeking to establish herself as a stable voice in foreign affairs, she went on to condemn Trump for his past support of opponents with dictatorial tendencies.

Harris said that she would never think twice about taking the critical steps needed to protect US interests and military troops from Iran and terrorists who get support from that country.

She said, “I will not cozy up to tyrants and dictators like Kim Jong-Un who are rooting for Trump.”

She went on, “They know he is easy to manipulate with flattery and favors.”

Although Harris continued, she emphasized that a cease-fire in Gaza must be “done” and that she would “stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself.”

To loud applause, she said, “Now is the time to get a hostage deal and a cease-fire deal done!”

She said, “And let me be clear: I will always defend Israel’s right to self-defense.”

“Will sign ‘bipartisan’ border bill,” claims Harris.

Despite the fact that most Republicans were against the comprehensive border security bill this summer, Harris has now promised to sign it into law.

“After decades in law enforcement, I know the importance of safety and security, especially at our border,” she said.

She denounced Trump for ordering his legislative allies to undermine the accord. She promised to guarantee that the bipartisan border security measure that Trump “killed” is brought back to life and signed into law.
