Chris Hemsworth in talks to play iconic role in Disney’s upcoming ‘Prince Charming’ movie
Upcoming Movie Prince Charming: Disney’s next “Prince Charming” film is reportedly considering casting Chris Hemsworth, best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel world, as Prince Charming.
Variety said that while narrative specifics are still being kept under wraps, it is still unclear whether the movie will be live-action or animated.
Paul King, well renowned for his work on Wonka, will helm the film. King, Jon Croker, and Simon Farnaby will also co-write the script.
‘Thor’ star has been working on a lot of new projects lately. In the animated movie Transformers One, he most recently provided the voice of Optimus Prime. He also played the antagonist in “Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” earlier this year, costarring with Anya Taylor-Joy.
Hemsworth’s next project is the Amazon MGM Studios thriller Crime 101. Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, and Hemsworth’s other Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo will also appear in the movie. A number of unsolved jewelry thefts on the Pacific Coast Highway are the subject of Crime 101, which is based on a short tale by Don Winslow. Hemsworth portrays a lone jewel burglar who is plotting a last theft while a detective attempts to apprehend him.
Prince Charming director Paul King is fresh off the box office triumph of Timothee Chalamet’s Wonka, which brought in $218 million at home and $634 million abroad. The Paddington movies, which King also directed, were box office successes.
Variety reports that Hemsworth’s casting as Prince Charming has not yet received a response from Disney.
