BYC organised rallies and meetings in various areas like Lasbela and Chahar
Balochistan: In advance of January 25, which the BYC will observe as “Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day,” the leading Baloch human rights organization, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), organized demonstrations and meetings on Friday across many localities, including Lasbela, Chehtar, and Charsar.
The Lasbela area held its first awareness rally and information desk in Hub, Balochistan, on Friday, according to a post on X by BYC.
BYC leader Sammi Deen Baloch stressed the value of group action in the fight for justice and rights during the meeting and urged everyone to actively participate in the upcoming Baloch National Gathering for “Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day” on January 25 in Dalbandin.
“During the event, the speakers revealed the state’s infamous and increasingly desperate attempts to thwart peaceful mobilization,” the post said. Armed with a weapon and ammo, a state agent was apprehended while conducting surveillance. He was arrested before he could execute his intended targeted shooting, according to reports. This event highlights the drastic tactics the government uses to frighten those who support Baloch rights and disrupt legitimate meetings.
It stated: “National Gathering awareness efforts are still going strong in many areas, reaffirming a common dedication to national cohesion and communal security. Another awareness rally and information desk is scheduled for tomorrow, January 18, 2025, at Mira Naka, Lyari, as part of continuing efforts.
In a different tweet, BYC said that in anticipation of the January 25 Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day, its Chagai Zone held a corner meeting in Chehtar and Charsar on Friday.
The state’s involvement in encouraging drug addiction among Baloch youngsters in Chagai under its sponsorship was denounced by Sabiha Baloch, another Baloch politician.
She also emphasized the dire health effects of the nuclear explosions in Chagai, which have caused a notable increase in the number of cancer-related fatalities in the area. She also noted that Pakistan has been taking significant resources from the Saindak project for the last 20 years, including marble, chromite, silver, and gold. However, the Saindak locals still struggle to earn a livelihood while being humiliated and exploited by Pakistani security personnel on a regular basis. Dr. Sabiha Baloch also highlighted the role played by so-called tribal leaders in Chagai, who have unlawfully taken land from the weak and impoverished, the post said.
Given these persistent injustices, Sabiha Baloch called on the people of Chasar and Chehtar to demonstrate in large numbers on January 25 in Dalbandin in order to demand justice for the Baloch people and to present a unified front against tyranny.
