British YouTuber and Rapper Yung Filly accused of rape in Australia following music performance
British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly: Rapper and British YouTuber Yung Filly is accused of raping and strangling a lady in a hotel room after she performed live in Australia.
The 29-year-old, whose true name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, made an appearance in court on Thursday, October 10, facing many accusations in Perth, the west coast city where his alleged crimes were carried out on September 28, according to a police statement.
According to Australian Broadcasting Corp., he was freed on bond with the stipulations that he stay in the state of Western Australia, refrain from contacting his said victim, and refrain from discussing the matter on social media.
A request for comment on Friday was not immediately answered by his attorney, Seamus Rafferty.
While on tour in Australia, Barrientos was taken into custody on Tuesday in Brisbane, a city on the east coast, according to the police. On Wednesday, the performer, who was born in Colombia and has 1.8 million YouTube subscribers, was deported back to Perth.
Police claim that after his performance at a Perth nightclub, he attacked a lady in her 20s in a hotel room.
According to authorities, he is accused of four counts of rape, three charges of assault resulting in bodily damage, and one crime of placing pressure on the woman’s neck to prevent her from breathing or circulating normally.
Barrientos began his career in music in 2017 and on YouTube in 2013. In addition, he has hosted and participated in a number of television shows.
In 2021, he was the recipient of a MOBO Award, a British music award that recognizes accomplishments in “music of black origin,” in the Best Media Personality category.
