American pop star Taylor Swift supports Democratic candidate Kamala Harris for US presidential election
US presidential election: US music sensation Taylor Swift supported US presidential contender Kamala Harris on Wednesday, just after Harris’s first debate with opponent Republican Donald Trump concluded. Swift said that she would support the Democratic candidate in the election in November, referring to Harris as a “warrior.”
Swift said on Instagram, “I will be voting for Tim Walz and Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

“I’m supporting @kamalaharris in my vote because she stands out for issues and rights that I feel require a champion. She seems like a calm, capable leader, and if she is in charge instead of anarchy, I think our nation can achieve so much more.
“I’ve done my research and I’ve made my choice,” Swift said. You are the only one who can do the study and make the decision. I also want to emphasize this, particularly to new voters: Keep in mind that you must be registered in order to cast a ballot.
She captioned the tweet, which included a photo of the singer holding a cat, “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady,” perhaps teasing comments made by JD Vance, Donald Trump’s running partner.
JD Vance expressed dissatisfaction about the US being run by Democrats, corporate oligarchs, and “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too” in an interview from 2021 that was widely shared recently.
August saw Trump share fictitious photos on social media that seemed to show the singer and her followers were behind him. Posting the photos with editing, he added, “I accept!”
Swift said, “Recently, I was made aware that AI of’me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site,” in response to the Republican candidate’s assertion. My concerns about AI and the risks of disseminating false information were evoked by it. It led me to the realization that, as a voter, I must be really open about my true intentions for this election.”
Swift stayed away from political commentary for over twenty years. She did, however, support two Democratic candidates from Tennessee in 2018. Since then, she has been a vocal supporter of Democratic ideas, encouraging her followers to cast ballots and standing out for issues like LGBT rights, women’s rights, and reproductive health. She has also publicly criticized the policies of Donald Trump.
