ADIO signs multiple collaboration agreements to explore manufacturing opportunities within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi: In keeping with Abu Dhabi’s dedication to sustainable development and economic diversification, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has inked a number of cooperative agreements to investigate manufacturing prospects in the emirate.
The contracts were signed during the Procurement Forum of the first Abu Dhabi Business Week, which took place from December 4–6. By highlighting the private sector’s role in influencing public sector procurement in the future and propelling the Emirate’s economic transformation, the Procurement Forum seeks to highlight the strategic procurement goals of the Abu Dhabi Government.
ADIO signed a contract with GEOLLYTO Global Hub, a business that specializes in lighting and solar goods. Key components of the partnership include the possible construction of a product assembly line, a manufacturing facility, and an innovation center dedicated to promoting lighting solutions and industry innovation. The collaboration’s goal is to investigate projects that will assist the regional lighting systems sector. The agreement also covers supplier registration, government procurement prioritization, pre-qualification of goods and services, and investment facilitation.
Additionally, ADIO entered into an agreement with Lumenae Lighting Manufacturing, a world leader in electrical fixtures for street and residential lighting, whereby the parties seek to investigate possible investment and partnership opportunities to advance the construction of a state-of-the-art lighting production facility in Abu Dhabi to serve the surrounding area. By addressing the rising need for energy-efficient lighting solutions, the alliance hopes to strengthen the emirate’s standing as a center for creative and sustainable manufacturing.
Aqara, the biggest supplier of smart home solutions in China, and JST Limited, an Internet of Things (IoT) joint venture business, inked another important deal that encompasses both indoor and outdoor lighting. Both organizations will investigate service delivery options and encourage the localization of lighting systems manufacturing in Abu Dhabi as part of the cooperation. The establishment of a manufacturing line for lighting items as well as the design of intelligent systems for residences, farms, schools, and hotels will be explored in this collaboration.
In order to investigate prospects for creating energy-efficient cooling systems in Abu Dhabi, ADIO also inked a deal with Daikin Middle East and Africa (Daikin), a top supplier of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air) systems worldwide. The agreement also calls on both sides to find ways to work together to create smart home systems that use integrated sensors to save energy expenses. The establishment of an HVAC facility, beginning with an assembly line and ultimately moving on to full-scale production, will also be the subject of this collaboration’s investigation of possible partnership and investment prospects.
In order to investigate prospects for expanding HVAC production in the emirate, ADIO also inked a deal with Takyeef Factory, a well-known HVAC firm with headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Through improved production and assembly procedures, this agreement will concentrate on fostering more communication and cooperation between the two sides in order to create cutting-edge and environmentally friendly HVAC products.
These agreements represent a major advancement in ADIO’s continuous endeavors to promote innovation and local manufacturing via strategic alliances. The deal expands on ADIO’s and the Abu Dhabi Department of Government Enablement’s (ADDGE) collaborative efforts to use government procurement laws to the advantage of the region’s industrial sector. The expansion of local manufacturing is being fueled by ADIO’s crucial role in establishing alliances that complement the government’s procurement regulations.
“Our collaboration with these organizations represents a significant turning point in our larger endeavors to promote localization throughout Abu Dhabi,” said Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO. This partnership is expected to further our mutual objectives of creating sustainable and creative goods and fostering the expansion of the industrial sector, enhancing the emirate’s standing as a center for smart urban solutions. In addition to increasing the industrial sector’s capacity, we are also promoting a more robust and competitive economy by coordinating with government procurement goals.
