Adam Sandler has a huge surprise for fans of his 1996 classic golf comedy ‘Happy Gilmore’
A big surprise for fans of Adam Sandler’s 1996 golf comedy “Happy Gilmore” has been confirmed: Eminem will make a brief appearance in the forthcoming “Happy Gilmore 2” sequel.
According to People magazine, Sandler revealed the information during a recent interview on The Dan Patrick Show, when he hinted at potential celebrity appearances and offered details on the sequel’s development.
He couldn’t help but reveal the iconic rapper’s participation when presenter Dan Patrick asked about possible appearances.
“Can I talk about Eminem having a cameo?” Patrick laughed as he asked. With much enthusiasm, Sandler said, “Okay, yes, yes you can.”
“Eminem was cool, he came by, he was great,” he said, according to People magazine.
Sandler expressed his enthusiasm at collaborating with the rapper, even if he did not provide any details on Eminem’s part in the follow-up.
Sandler said, “We just spent a day with Eminem and he just shot and shot, and he was insane.” “I’ve known Eminem for a long time, he’s a great guy and he came in and was funny as hell,” Sandler said. According to People magazine, “He said a million things we can use and a million that we’re glad we have him on tape.”
The rapper, who is well-known for his appearance in “8 Mile” and his classic songs like “Lose Yourself,” gives the movie a distinctive edge, but Sandler would not say how he persuaded the rapper to appear in the comedy.
Sandler said, “I can’t tell you all that,” in order to conceal the specifics of the cameo for the time being.
‘Happy Gilmore 2’ will have a number of well-known artists in addition to Eminem. Known for playing the evil Shooter McGavin in the first movie, Christopher McDonald is making a comeback.
Actress Margaret Qualley, TV personality Dan Patrick, and NFL player Travis Kelce are among the other well-known cameos.
According to People magazine, Sandler also alluded to the fact that 84-year-old golf icon Jack Nicklaus will have a special role in the follow-up.
Two months after McDonald revealed the news in an interview, Netflix announced the much-anticipated “Happy Gilmore” sequel in May.
Now that production is complete, Sandler said that the movie would probably have its debut in July 2025.
Sandler acknowledged the burden of producing a sequel over 30 years after the first, despite his enthusiasm.
“We’ve got a lot of good stuff, and we just want to make sure that it all comes together,” Sandler said. He continued, “We’re definitely nervous, but we feel some sort of confidence.”
