Yami Gautam said on the premiere of ‘Article 370’ at IFFI 2024
At the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where her film “Article 370” was shown, actress Yami Gautam gave her opinions on the movie and her career in film.
“Working on a unique project like ‘Article 370’ came with its challenges and doubts, but the team remained confident that the film would succeed if it was well-made with a strong script and performance,” Yami Gautam told media.
“Like Aditya, I’ve always made an effort to connect with movies that are unique in whatever manner they might be. He and Lokesh supported this movie as producers. This genre wasn’t particularly popular, and therefore, there were a lot of questions and suggestions such, “Are you sure? Will the audience like this movie? Is it going to connect? There are no songs on it. It is based on a documentary and is rather intense. However, we were certain that it would succeed if it was a well-made movie with a strong storyline, strong acting, and the correct technical team behind it,” Yami said.
Regarding portraying powerful characters, Yami said that choosing to play them has been a conscious choice.
“It’s a deliberate choice in both cases. The audience, filmmakers, writers, and producers will realize that you can do humor, political thrillers, and drama if you work continuously in this way,” she remarked.
In addition, Yami discussed how she manages her personal and professional lives, pointing out that her workload has grown recently.
“I’m willing to maintain a balance between my personal and professional lives, even if I’m busier than ever. shift doesn’t happen immediately, but this is a big shift. It takes a lot of people’s support, constant effort, and sacrifice. I’m glad to be a part of the film industry right now, and we have to enjoy it,” she remarked.
Speaking about her future movie, Yami said, “Dhoom Dhaam is the title of my next film. Pratik Gandhi and I appear in the movie. It is a caper comedy, and I have no doubt that you will find it entertaining. It is a family movie and has nothing to do with Article 370. We’ll discuss it more shortly.
The National Award-winning director Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s film “Article 370” explores the historic Central government repeal of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
The film portrays the decision, which deprived Jammu & Kashmir of its unique status, through a realistic viewpoint.
The ensemble cast of the movie includes Kiran Karmarkar, Arun Govil, and Priyamani in addition to Yami Gautam. ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ is the next movie that Yami will appear in.
