Within an hour, the first day of the winter session of the Assembly was adjourned till Tuesday after Congress party protested

The winter assembly session in Madhya Pradesh started on Monday, but it was delayed for the day within an hour after the Congress party protested inside the legislature over concerns pertaining to farmers.

On the first day of the winter session, Congress MLAs left the house after their demand that a debate be held about the fertilizer problem was not met.

As a sign of protest, the Congress MLAs, including Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar, brought empty fertilizer bags to the legislature. In front of the Gandhi monument on the state assembly’s grounds, the Congress MLAs also chanted slogans.

“In the assembly, we would want to talk about the issues facing farmers, but the state administration is avoiding the conversation. Even if they choose not to, they still provide the farmers fertilizer. despite the fact that the government cannot. We were forced to leave the House in protest for this reason. We wouldn’t have demonstrated with empty bags if there had been enough fertilizer available,” Singhar told reporters as he left the gathering.

Additionally, Singhar posted on X, saying, “Today, we carried DAP sacks in solidarity with the MLAs to draw the state government’s attention to the issues facing the farmers in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. Farmers are honored on the opening day of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s winter session.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had earlier said he was happy that the state’s administration has successfully completed its first year in office.

“Today marks the beginning of the winter assembly session, and I’m pleased to report that we’ve successfully completed the first year of our term’s public welfare work and moved on to the second. At the start of the second year, there is an assembly session.

“We are organizing the Jan Kalyan Parv Pakhawada (fortnight) and we are dedicating continuous development work to the public,” the chief minister said.

On December 20, the five-day winter assembly session will come to an end.
