Welcoming the New Year, Hollywood star Jeremy Renner celebrates his “rebirthday” on the second anniversary of the snowplow accident
Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner celebrated his “rebirthday” on the second anniversary of the snowplow tragedy that almost claimed his life by writing a heartfelt Instagram post to start the new year.
“I hope you all have a great new year. As I celebrate my second “ReBirthday,” I want to express my love, respect, and appreciation to the vast number of individuals who helped me get back on my feet. I want to thank all of the nurses, doctors, and first responders. Renner stated, “I literally owe you my life,” thanking those who rescued his life.
“My neighbors, who came to my help and bravely braved the turmoil for forty-five long minutes on the ice road on New Year’s morning, as well as my gorgeous and courageous nephew, have my deepest sympathies. He said, “I’m so sorry about all the eerie pictures I left on you all. I’ll spare you from the pictures of the meat grinding.”
According to People, on January 1, a seven-ton snowplow hit and crushed Renner at his home in Reno, leaving him critically injured and almost immobilized. In order to clear the area and tow his car, which was parked on an ice road, Renner, who had hosted relatives for the holiday, climbed into the automobile after the region around his mountain vacation house had experienced a snowstorm.

Renner was worried about his safety since he couldn’t see his nephew, Alex Fries, who was the son of his sister Kym, removing the link that connected the automobile to the plow. Later, he claimed that he leaned out of the plow and fell out without using the parking brake. He attempted to get back in, fearing it might roll onto Fries, but he was stuck under the nine-foot-tall car, which ran him over.
In his email, Renner went on to recall the incident: “My list of appreciation is extremely extensive…. With some divine intervention, a little bit of luck, and a lot of miracles, my family has never left my side thanks to the love and prayers that have poured in from you all over the globe (I need them all). I’m strong once again. Greater Openness. Loved more. More Connected. And I’m really grateful to be able to take my next breath. I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all loved by me.
