New Delhi: On Sunday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar urged India’s youth to be proactive in defending national interests and against anti-national narratives that impede the nation’s advancement.

He also raised worries about how demographic shifts and illegal immigration may impact politics, emphasizing that these are problems that the young must collectively work to resolve.

“I call on the youth to combat these anti-national narratives and defeat forces hostile to India,” Jagdeep Dhankhar stated during his speech at the 75th ICAI. Millions of undocumented immigrants and demographic shifts that impact election outcomes are beyond the capability of our country. You must work together to overcome these obstacles.

Along with voicing worries about the present condition of legislative processes, Dhankhar emphasized the value of meaningful discussions and debates in the House, drawing a comparison with the Constituent Assembly’s productive deliberations, which were solely focused on the interests of the country.

“It is crucial that India’s young strength, of which you are at the top, go in the correct way when the nation is in crisis and responsible individuals are failing to fulfill their responsibilities. It is also your duty if there is merely disturbance in the Parliament and no discussion or debate,” Dhankhar said.

He voiced alarm about the growing number of interruptions in Parliament, pointing out that the younger generation has severe concerns about the absence of fruitful discussion.

He went on to say, “The Constituent Assembly used to have constructive debates and discussions where there was no conflict and just the interests of the country were at stake. The young people question me, “Why don’t you do something?” when they see the same arena in the House today. This is a really concerning issue.

The vice president emphasized India’s incredible growth path, which has drawn attention from all across the world, but cautioned that certain people are hurting the country by spreading anti-national and polarizing ideas.
“The world has been amazed by India’s extraordinary growth path, but some individuals are hurting the country’s interests by spreading false information. He said, “By forgetting Indianness and nationalism, they are severing the very branch on which they are sitting.”
