Uttarakhand Police arrested two people in connection with the robbery in Premnagar area of Dehradun
Dehradun: According to Uttarakhand Police, two additional people have been taken into custody in relation to the robbery that took place in the Premnagar neighborhood of Dehradun on Monday. They were also found in possession of cash and counterfeit currency.
Three police officers were previously arrested in relation to the same crime. Departmental action has been taken against the cops who participated in the heist, and they were suspended.
Authorities claim that the heist was a part of a well-thought-out plot in which the defendants enticed victims with promises of cheap money.
The police have retrieved the counterfeit cash and the stolen funds from the defendant.
Deepam Seth, the Director General of Police (DGP) for Uttarakhand, emphasized the state’s zero-tolerance stance against crime and corruption, stating that no one would be spared for engaging in illegal behavior, regardless of their level or position.
He emphasized that everyone is subject to the law, including those in uniform, and that anybody found guilty would face severe consequences.
Additionally, DGP Seth oversaw a comprehensive investigation into the inadequate control of officers at the police station and circle levels, emphasizing the need for more stringent oversight of the actions of the implicated police officers.
