Uttarakhand government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will present the budget in the assembly today

Dehradun: Today, the legislature will hear the budget presentation from the Uttarakhand administration, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. On Wednesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami took part in the first Assembly Session of 2025 of the state’s fifth Legislative Assembly.

During the Uttarakhand Assembly’s budget session, Congress MLAs protested against the installation of smart pre-paid power meters.

“The government does not want to extend the Assembly session’s duration,” said State Assembly LoP Yashpal Arya. It wishes to steer clear of important topics. We are against the state’s implementation of smart pre-paid power meters today.

According to an official statement from his office, Dhami had earlier, on February 18, authorized the grant of Rs 2 crore, which was included in standard item 40 of the modernization of state police forces for the fiscal year 2024–2025.

In accordance with the state plan, the Chief Minister has authorized the expenditure of Rs 243.91 lakh for DBMBC to surface coat and install signs on a number of roads in Ward No. 5 Dhoran Khas of Assembly Constituency Mussoorie in the Dehradun district.

The proposals to rename the Chalkudia-Masmoli-Saknoli-Naukholi Motor Road in Garhwal as Shaheed Mandeep Singh Negi Motor Road, the Sisaldi-Manjhola Motor Road as Freedom Fighter Motor Road, and the Badiun Kandool Talla-Kandool Malla Uttinda (Mustkhal-Pulasun-Uttinda Motor Road) as Freedom Fighter Tula Singh Rawat Motor Road were also approved by the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister authorized Rs 150.48 lakh for the construction of a 15-meter-long RCC bridge over Chinuna Gad to connect Goluchina-Galli-Vasyura-Govindpur Motor Road under Assembly Constituency Someshwar of Almora district, and Rs 148.48 lakh for the reconstruction and surface improvement of the road damaged by the excessive flow of water of the Gaula river from Vanbhulpura railway crossing to Gaulapul in Assembly Constituency-Lalkuan under the State Plan. A sum of Rs 121.83 lakh was approved for approval.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed all Uttarakhand residents on the state’s founding day last year and announced that the state’s silver jubilee year will begin on November 9, 2024. As Uttarakhand enters its 25th year of existence, Prime Minister Modi called on the populace to strive for the state’s prosperous future.

As India is also in its 25 years of Amrit Kaal, he said, this journey of Uttarakhand’s impending 25 years was a remarkable coincidence, suggesting a Viksit (developed) Uttarakhand for a Viksit Bharat. PM Modi said that during this time, the nation will see the resolve come to fruition. Along with the resolutions for the next 25 years, the prime minister was also happy that the people had implemented a number of projects.

He continued by saying that all Uttarakhand residents will be able to hear about the state’s pride and the objective of a developed Uttarakhand thanks to these programs. PM Modi commended the state’s citizens for this momentous occasion and for passing this significant resolution.

The ‘Pravasi Uttarakhand Sammelan’ was recently conducted with great success, he said, and he expressed the hope that the people of Uttarakhand living abroad would play important roles in the state’s growth.
