Uttarakhand: Dehradun district administration orders to maintain law and order for tourists in Mussoorie before New Year
Dehradun: According to a press release, the Dehradun district administration has directed the authorities to maintain peace and order and guarantee efficient traffic control in Mussoorie during the spike in visitors for Christmas, New Year’s, and winter holidays.
According to an official announcement, the decree will take effect on the day of issue and last until January 20, 2025.
“Order of the District Administration Dehradun under Section 163 (1) of the Indian Civil Defence Code to maintain law and order and a smooth traffic system in view of the heavy influx of tourists during Christmas, New Year, and winter tourism in Mussoorie,” the notification said.
The winter travel system was introduced for the first time in Mussoorie by District Magistrate Dehradun Savin Bansal, who also established the officials’ responsibilities.
All departments in Mussoorie were given responsibility for the winter transit system by DM Savin Bansal, who also threatened legal action against anybody found in violation of the norms.
Previously, the Tourism Department was given four weeks by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to establish a strategy for Uttarakhand’s wedding locations. Additionally, he gave staff instructions to hasten the planning for aircraft landings at Pantnagar and Dehradun airports at night. The Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) had its third meeting in the Secretariat, where these directives were given.
The action plan to construct two new cities must be implemented quickly, the Chief Minister said. In addition, he asked for the Knowledge City in Dakpathar and the Ganga and Sharda Corridors to be developed in phases, with all projects officially starting by June 2026.
Dhami emphasized the need of organizing and carrying out different development plans in accordance with the requirements of the state throughout the next 25 years. He emphasized that the state must focus on short-, medium-, and long-term plans in order to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of a developed India by 2047.
