Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, 38th National Games will be based on Green Games theme
The 38th National Games would have a green games theme, according to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who also claimed that it will give the state a new identity.
According to an announcement, the National Games will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun from January 28 to February 14, 2025.
CM Dhami attended the Tehri Water Sports Cup 2024 concluding ceremony in Tehri Garhwal on Friday.
With a 50-year vision for the Tehri-Chamba region, the Chief Minister used this occasion to announce plans to improve the roads of Medical College, build a sports field at the district headquarters, build a multi-parking complex in New Tehri, and build a drinking water pumping scheme from JICA.
The Chief Minister also presented trophies and medals to the winners of the men’s and women’s divisions, as well as the first and second place finishers in the overall championship canoeing tournament.
The successful organization of the third Tehri Water Sports Cup at the Tehri Dam reservoir, according to the chief minister, is a source of pride. According to him, Tehri Lake is contributing significantly to our state’s economy and job growth via electricity generation, water management, tourism, and adventure sports.
The government sometimes tries to set up these kinds of initiatives here in order to encourage adventure sports and tourism. These occurrences also boost our economy and jobs. By holding these events for a whole year, the Tehri area will advance to new levels of development in the near future.
According to the Chief Minister, athletics fosters traits like combativeness and discipline in addition to cerebral and physical growth among participants. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, several initiatives such as Fit India and Khelo India were launched to promote sports in the nation, which has fostered a culture of sports.
He said that India is now reaching new heights in sports under the capable direction of Prime Minister Modi. It is forging a new identity for itself both domestically and globally. Additionally, the state government is always working to develop the potential of the state’s young in order to advance them.
According to the Chief Minister, in an effort to motivate athletes, the state government has instituted a new sports strategy. Out-of-turn employment are also being offered to athletes who win national and international gold. To ensure that the players’ hard work is properly rewarded and their potential is given justice, the 4% sports quota for state service players has been reinstated.
According to the chief minister, the state will soon see the construction of a sports university. This will provide our athletes access to top-notch training and sporting facilities.
Uttarakhand has the privilege of hosting the 38th National Games, he remarked. Infrastructure is being constructed for this purpose. Devbhoomi will undoubtedly now also be referred to as Khelbhoomi.
According to the Chief Minister, the 38th National Games, which will have a green games theme, will not only be historic but also provide the state with a new international identity. According to him, the state has successfully hosted three G-20 summits, two of which were conducted in Tehri.
