“In view of the warning given by the Meteorological Department about the increase in cold along with rain in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed all the District Magistrates to provide adequate facilities in the night shelters as well as distribute quilts and blankets to the needy people,” stated the CMO of Uttarakhand.

At the tehsil level, CM Dhami has also directed all District Magistrates to make the required preparations to guard against the cold. CM Dhami went on to say that families and homeless persons should be moved to night shelters, with particular attention given to mothers, children, and those who are ill.

“On Saturday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave all District Magistrates instructions to set up sufficient safeguards against the cold at the tehsil level. In addition to establishing night shelters in accordance with necessity, homeless individuals and families should be relocated there; in particular, women, children, and the ill should be provided with night shelter facilities right away, the Uttarakhand CMO said.

As the temperature drops, the Chief Minister also urged the district administration to take preventative measures at the local level and provide various services to those in need.

“In addition to distributing blankets and quilts, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that plans for bonfires should be set up in conspicuous locations. The CMO said, “The district administration should take precautions at its level and provide all kinds of facilities to needy people due to the increase in cold in lower places due to snowfall at high altitude places,” the Chief Minister added.
