Importantly, the number of devotees who may visit Uttarakhand’s four Dhams is unrestricted, and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami makes sure that everyone has access to all the amenities and can darshan safely.

“We are continuing our registration process; till now, around 13.5 lakh people have registered for the yatra. the important thing is that there is no restriction on the number of devotees. The CM has given clear instructions that whoever wants to do a darshan of Char Dham can definitely do it, and it can be done without any problems and with facilities, with the expectation that the yatra is good,” the Commissioner of Garwhal Mandal told the media report.

The head of the division claims that CM Dhami has been checking in every day to get information on the preparations, which began after the end of the yatra last year.

After last year’s Char Dham Yatra ended, we began preparing for this year’s yatra in 2025. We were instructed to begin preparations by the Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, at that same moment. At least two or three discussions have been had with the Chief Minister about this as well,” Commissioner Pandey said.

“CM takes updates on this daily to check on which stage the preparations have been completed, what the shortcomings are, and how to fix them,” he said.

In reference to the meetings, he said that on April 5, a number of district authorities, including police officers and zilla officials, convened to get reports on the preparations for devotees. The officials’ main concerns were traffic control, suitable parking, and health facilities.

“We had meetings at the Yatra office in Rishikesh in February and on April 5th, when district authorities from Gharwal Mandal, a zilla officer, police officers, and heads of departments were present. The preparations are almost complete. We’ve spoken in-depth about three or four topics, including traffic control, public health, and, most importantly, ensuring parking and holding places,” Garhwal’s Commissioner said.

To protect the safety of devotees, the roughly 1,600 km of the yatra have been split up into 10-kilometre sectors this year. Police officers with walkie-talkies and two-wheelers are stationed in each sector.

“We have now separated the yatra’s length into 10-kilometre sectors, each of which is grouped into zones and super zones and will have police officers on walkie-talkies. Commissioner Pandey told the media report, “CM has made it quite clear that devotees shouldn’t have any difficulties.

According to an official release, a 30-member advance team from the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) arrived in Badrinath Dham yesterday to supervise and start infrastructure and repair work in readiness for the yearly pilgrimage.

It is important to note that Badrinath Dham will open for business on May 4. While preparations are ongoing at the BKTC level for the Yatra, the state government is getting ready for the Chardham Yatra prior to the Yatra.

Badrinath Dham is seeing clear weather, while snow is still visible in certain areas and on the surrounding slopes.

Each year, thousands of devotees go to Uttarakhand to visit the four sacred locations of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Depending on the weather, the pilgrimage usually begins in April or May and lasts until November.
